In my experience - yes to lose weight you do have to watch what you are eating - however certainly not to the extreme where you are limiting and starving yourself of all your favourite foods.
You need to look at losing this extra weight not only in the short term but in the long term. No-one ever 'diets' for the rest of their lives do they? No, what people need to be doing is approaching weight loss from a lifestyle change angle - and when you do this you will find that you can still eat all your favourite foods while losing weight and be able to maintain it because you have chosen to change your lifestyle permanently - not just go on a 'diet' for a set amount of time to get results
Lifestyle changes can come in many forms. You need to assess where you think you need to make changes in your life that will help you get rid of the extra weight and keep it off. For example if you eat take away 3 times a week - then cut it back to 1 or 2 times a week - you will lose weight for sure just by this example.
If you are someone who drinks 2 litres of soda a day - cut it back to 1 or a half litre - and you will see results.
These are just a few examples of how to make lifestyle changes that will allow you to lose weight without dieting. Making simple changes like this can make a big difference, and you are not missing out on anything - it is a win win situation. You will lose your excess weight and keep it off because you have been sensible and simply made a good positive lifestyle change.
